Today, we said our final goodbye to Jake Morgan, one of our 2018 Year 6 leavers, who sadly passed away on 6th January 2019. Although he was only with us at High Lane for his final year of primary school, Jake made a lasting impression in our hearts. As winner of our Citizenship Award, Jake enjoyed helping the younger children, caring for them and helping them during playtimes and lunchtimes. When he grew up, Jake dreamed of becoming a paramedic - so that he could give back to people who had helped him.
Jake suffered from a serious heart condition throughout his life. He faced the many challenges this presented with courage and a determination to live his life to the full. I will always remember the big grin on his face as he joined in with caving, canoeing, abseiling and numerous other activities on the Year 6 residential last Summer.
Our sincere condolences, love and support go to his parents and wider family at this sad time.
Adam, Jake's brother, has set up a 'just giving' page for Jake, with the proceeds going to the British Heart Foundation. The school will be supporting this in our fundraising later this year, but for those of you who would like to make a personal donation, I have copied the link below.
